Arizona's first female Athletic Director

Mary Holloway – Physical education and health teacher from 1956 – 1974, counselor from 1974 – 1990. Mary was instrumental in developing the women’s athletic program in the early years at Flowing Wells High School. She was the first girls athletic director in Arizona. She coached volleyball, softball, gymnastics and track at Flowing Wells High School. Upon retirement in 1990, Mary continues to be active as the Alumni Consultant to the Flowing Wells School District. Mary is considered “A lady who led the way” for Women’s Sports in Arizona High Schools. Mary, Flowing Wells Congratulates you.
